For example, have you... • Wasted time and effort on non-value added tasks, especially during the design checking, documentation, and detailing phase? • Experienced a loss of productivity and gone over-budget due to errors and manual re-work? • Taken longer than your competition during the design and development phase? • Performed physical testing of a product only to discover design flaws after manufacturing? If any of those sound familiar, we can help. Our technical experts can provide consulting services to help: • Automate non-value added work* • Be more competitive when bidding for contracts with OEMs • Develop FEA methodologies (e.g. To reliably predict the strength performance of products during the design phase / To estimate automotive body joint stiffness) • Develop customized CATIA scripts to automatically generate a Bill of Materials in a company-specific format • Create a set of CATIA templates designed to be easily used by non-experts in CATIA *What is non-value added work? This can be described as any work that requires resources but doesn't add value to the product or service. In mechanical industries, value is created when the product is designed and then produced on the manufacturing floor. Yet there are plenty of activities that don't add value, but have to be completed. For example: • Creating a Bill of Materials (BOM). Prior to product design, a list of which parts should be manufactured, which should be purchased, etc. must be created. • Production and detailing of design drawings. Before the product design is sent to the manufacturing floor, design drawings need to be created and detailed which includes tedious tasks such as adding title-blocks, tables, standard notes, etc. • Checking design files from a supplier. OEMs often subcontract design work to a supplier, but in order for those designs to meet the OEM's documentation and detailing standards, the design files must be carefully checked. Let us help automate these non-value added tasks for your team.
