This can be described as any work that requires resources but doesn't add value to the product or service. In mechanical industries, value is created when the product is designed and then produced on the manufacturing floor. Prior to product design, a list of which parts should be manufactured, which should be purchased, etc. must be created. • Production and detailing of design drawings.
