3DEXPERIENCE 2022x: Introduction to CATIA Surface Design 1–6 © 2022, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® The connections between curves and surfaces are defined as follows: Classification Description G0 The curves or surfaces share a common end point or edge. They are not tangent to one another as shown below. G1 The curves or surfaces are tangent to each other, share a common end point or edge, and have differing curvature magnitudes at their intersections, as shown below. G2 The curves or surfaces are tangent and have a constant curvature at their shared end point or edge as shown below. G2 continuity produces a smooth connection. G2 continuity is usually only required for surfaces in which light reflection is an issue. No tangency Entities are tangent Magnitude of curvatures is different. Tangent and curvature continuous Sample provided by ASCENT for review only All copying and reuse strictly forbidden.
