Introduction to 3D T&A © 2022, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® 1–23 1.7 Accessing Annotations An annotation set is created to store all elements created in the 3D Tolerancing & Annotation app and is viewable outside this application. Therefore, only the designers that are applying annotations require a role for 3D T&A. Anyone that is reviewing annotations and tolerances can do so using the 3D Annotation Insight app or can access them through another app that enables them to view part and product models. If you are using the 3D Annotation Insight app to review part-level annotations, you have to activate the part at the top of the tree instead of at the 3D shape level that would need to be activated for 3D Tolerancing & Annotation. An example of an annotated model that has been activated at the part level in the 3D Annotation Insight app is shown in Figure 1–19. Figure 1–19 Remember that you might have to toggle on the annotation set before it can be viewed in the model. This is done by right-clicking on the annotation set and selecting Show in 3D.
