Introduction to 3D T&A © 2022, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® 1–27 Task 1 - Import and open a part file. 1. Select (Add)>Import. 2. In the Import window, click (Browse) and navigate to your practice files folder. 3. Select the FlangLock.3dxml file, then click Open to place the file in the Filename field. While this step isn't spelled out in all of the exercises, putting your initials in front of your imported files can help differentiate them from others that get saved. 4. Enter ###_ in the Duplication String field, where ### represents your personal initials. This will put your initials in front of the part title and help differentiate your files from others who might be doing the same exercises if you save them and open them later. 5. Click OK to complete the import process. 6. Click OK for the Operation report. 7. Right-click on ###_FlangeLock A.1 in the specification tree and select Open. Task 2 - Switch to the 3D Tolerancing & Annotation app and adjust Preferences. 1. Verify that you are in the 3D Tolerancing & Annotation application. If not, select the outer ring of the compass and then select 3D Tolerancing & Annotation from the My Apps list, as shown in Figure 1–24. Figure 1–24 2. Select Me>Preferences>Common Preferences> Parameters, Measures, and Units>Units and select the Units arrow. Sample provided by ASCENT for review only All copying and reuse strictly forbidden.
