CATIA V5-6R2018: Advanced Assembly Design and Management 1–14 © 2019, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® 1.7 Save Operations New or modified files should be saved frequently to prevent data loss. Files can be saved using a variety of options: • Save • Save As • Save All • Save Management • Send To Save To save a file without renaming it, click (Save) in the Standard toolbar or select File>Save. Using this option requires no further input from you. Save As If the file is being saved for the first time, the Save As option is performed automatically. You can also use this option to rename a file or save a file to another format. Select File>Save As to open the Save As dialog box, as shown in Figure 1–14. The current name of the file displays in the File name field. To rename the file, replace the name in the File name field with the required name. Click Save to save the file to the hard drive. By default, the file is saved as a .CATProduct file. You can change the type of file by selecting the file format in the Save as type drop-down list.
