1.2 Surface Interface
CATIA contains several workbenches that enable you to create
surface features. This section introduces the basic tools of the
Generative Shape Design (GSD) workbench.
Access
the GSD
Workbench
To use this workbench, open a part model that was last saved in
the GSD workbench or select Start>Shape>Generative Shape
Design. The workbench symbol changes to .
GSD User
Interface
The interface for the GSD workbench is very similar to that of the
Part Design workbench. The primary difference is that the
toolbar options change to GSD-specific tools, as shown in
Figure 1–3.
