Practice 1a Viewing a Part
In this practice, you will open an existing model and work with
various visualization tools. You will also change the geometry of
a model by editing parameters and deleting features, and note
how these changes update in drawings and assemblies.
Task 1 - Import a CATIA part.
1. In the Top Bar, click (Add)>Import.
2. In the Import dialog box, click (Open).
3. Browse to and select Flange_Lock_Drawing.3dxml and
click Open.
4. Ensure the settings in the Import dialog box match those
shown in Figure 1–26.

Practice Objectives
• Open a part model and view it from different orientations.
• Change the display settings for the model.
• Investigate associativity between parts, drawings and assemblies.
