Introduction to Surfacing © 2022, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® 1–13 If the mass properties of your model are required or you intend on performing additional solid modeling, you must create solid geometry from the surfaces. You must take the model back to the Part Design app and use Surface-Based Features options to create solid geometry. These options include features, such as Close Surface (which fills a surface model with solid geometry) or Thick Surface (which adds solid material to either side of a surface).
