Although the surfaces look like they form a closed body surface, they still need to be joined before the solid model is created. Figure 1–9 Many surfaces might be required to achieve the required geometry. For example, the geometry shown in Figure 1–9 was created using eight surface features. In addition, operations such as joining and trimming might be required. Surface operations can be used to combine various surfaces into one feature, correct overlap and improve connections between surfaces, and move surfaces to different locations and orientations.
