Overview © 2021, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® 1–7 1.2 Deployment and Licensing The 3DEXPERIENCE platform can be integrated to an existing business model using the solution that best serves that business – using the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) options. On-Premise Platform Deployment Any running of services and data storage are on local hardware. Basic requirement for on-premise installation: • License Server • Database Software • Webserver May require the assistance of a VAR to setup your on-premise 3DEXPERIENCE installation. On-Cloud Platform Deployment Any running of services and data storage are on the cloud. On-Cloud Advantages: • Fast deployment • Only a license server is required for On-Cloud • Simplicity • Collaboration and connected • Security and reliability • Scalability Licensing Both 3DEXPERIENCE platform and V5 use Trigrams to denote licenses. In V5, each trigram represents a product or a package of products. For example, the MCE (Mechanical Product Creation) Package contains PDG (Part Design 2), ASD (Assembly Design 2), GS1 (Generative Shape Design 1), and FM1 (Functional Molded Part).
