Overview © 2021, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® 1–17 Importing a 3DXML File 3DXML is a proprietary format that facilitates transfer of CATIA files in a lightweight proprietary XML format. 3DXML can be in two formats: With Authoring (editable format) and For Review (non-editable). 3DXML files can be imported from you local file system using the following steps: 1. In the Top Bar, click (Add). 2. Click Import. 3. Select the file to import. 4. Select the import options, shown in Figure 1–15. 5. Click OK. Figure 1–15 Imported objects will open in the Explore mode, and will have to be opened to edit them. Explore Assemblies, folders, and other "container" type documents can be explored. This is similar to opening a folder in Windows. All the contents of the parent item will be listed. From there, selected sub elements can be viewed or opened. To explore: 1. Search and find an assembly or folder. 2. Right-click and select Explore. Sample provided by ASCENT for review only All copying and reuse strictly forbidden.
