Save
Due to the integration of CATIA V6 with a centralized file
database, local file storage does not typically occur.
Instead, files are stored in the engineering database for access
by other team members or departments. File access is controlled
by the database administrator or someone with the appropriate
security access.
• Click (Share) and Save. The files will be saved to the
database using the default settings.
• Click (Share) > Save with Options to further control
the saving operation.
Save with
Options
When using save with Options, the current status of the parts
can be checked by viewing the circles on the left, as shown in
Figure 1–22. Filters can be used to pick what types of parts are
displayed, such as only showing modified items. If a part has
been accidentally changed, it can be excluded from being saved.
To make a copy of a part, there is Save As New as well as
revision options.
