Rapid PLM Adoption Phase 2 – Content Development and Assembly

This blog is the second of three that describe the phases of our rapid Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) adoption projects: Phase 1 covers the Discovery and Curriculum Plan; Phase 2 focuses on Content Development and Assembly; and Phase 3 addresses Delivery and Support. As mentioned in the first blog, these projects deliver customized PLM training to prepare end users for using their PLM software with tailored business processes. Phase 2: Content Development and Assembly

The purpose of this phase is to develop all the content required for instructors and students for the training. The format and learning objectives of each course/module were determined in Phase 1. In Phase 2, this information is reviewed, further detailed, and fine-tuned with the client before the development of the course/module content is started. Note that the terms 'course' and 'module' are interchangeable. The deliverables for this phase include training content for each module in print and/or online self-paced eLearning formats, along with assessment knowledge check questions and instructor presentation slides, if required. 

 An example process workflow for the development of each course/module is shown in the image below. The planning and scheduling take place first, followed by the creation of the detailed outline. The client then reviews the outline and gives the go-ahead to start module development. A DRAFT1 version is created first and then reviewed. If needed, a DRAFT2 version is developed, incorporating feedback from DRAFT1. This version can be used for pilot training, if desired. The feedback from this version is then used to create a FINAL version that can be uploaded into a Learning Management System, if required, for end-user training.
